Barden Hill

There are two entrances to Barden Hill. There is one in the back of the Winthrop Atkins parking lot. This is a private company parking lot that I swear I have never ever parked at and walked over a nice river bridge to the trail that runs along the power lines before running up a reasonably steep single track trail that comes out at the top of the hill - now occupied by the Nichols school.

The other entrance is on Sachem Street on the opposite side of the gravel pit. Incidentally, you can get into Pratt Farm through a trail that comes into the back of the gravel pit. Since the gravel pit is a private company - like Winthrop Atkins, I can only report this second hand as I have never been on this trail let alone cross-country skied on it.

Little Quittacus Pond

Located on Rt. 105/Nagus Way in Lakeville. There is a gate that is often closed but ample room on the side of the road for parking. When the gate open, there is parking lot a couple of hundred yards down Nagus Way. Nagues way is a paved road with virutally no traffic that is good for light walking or strollers. There is a trail the runs around Little Quittacus that comes out on Rt. 105. The downside is that you have to walk back down Rt. 105 to get back to the car - but there is plenty of room on the side of the road along with fire roads.

Pratt Farm

Located on Rt. 105 in Middleboro, there is a parking lot just south of the Rt. 105 and Sachem Street. The beginning of the trail system is a small field. Immediately after the there is a trail that goes to the left and comes to a small pond and proceeds around the pond. The trail that continues straight on passes through a glade and loops around to the left and joins up with the pond trail.

Carver

In Carver you are close to Myles Standish. There are also many trails that are near the airport in Plymouth. You can also walk around the entire track area of Edaville Railroad.

Weston Forest - Middleboro

There is a marked parking lot on Tispaquin St.

Map

There is parking and several trails in the area. I'd say about four miles worth. Can detail them if you wish. Where the real trails are is across the street. You can follow the power lines when you cross the street and that will take you up to a roadway. You can take a left turn and that will take you to the bogs. Behind the pumping station is another trail entrance. This will eventually work you into the entire Rocky Gutter area. Too many trails to detail unless you wish me to do so.

Now, go further down on those power lines and there will be a trail on you right. Maybe 50 yards? This will eventually take you back to the street and also has a few trails that branch out from it. If you choose not to take that trail continue down on the power lines. Another trail appears to your left and if you take that trail after a mile or so you come out to Rocky Gutter. The power lines will also take you to Rocky Gutter but it is usually dry only in late summer.

Rocky Gutter Wildlife Management Area

Rocky Gutter is closed except during hunting season you can walk the roadway. As you walk down Rocky Gutter there are trails on your right and left. Some and just short dead ends and others can go for quite a distance.
