Controversial selectman to host radio showThis just in from the Nemasket forum
Attorney Adam Bond, a sitting Middleboro Selectman, has partnered with WXBR 1460 AM talk radio to bring a new hour of programming to the airwaves. The show, Coffee Shop Talk, will air every Thursday from 11 – Noon. Adam will welcome weekly guests to the program to discuss local politics, news and events – all of the things you typically talk about at your local coffee shop. Listeners are encouraged to call in with questions and comments.
“I have been accused of not listening by quite a few people over the past several months. I believe that some of those people are confusing “listening” with “agreeing.” I think we are all capable of intelligent, respectful debate and I look forward to hearing from a variety of view points, on a variety of topics,” Mr. Bond said of the controversial hour.
Mr. Bond’s first program will air on Thursday February 21, 2008 at 11:00 AM, where he will be joined by Shawn Hendricks, current leader of the Wampanoag Tribe. Mr. Hendricks has granted very few interviews, but has agreed to do a full, uninterrupted hour with Mr. Bond. They will discuss the Tribe’s current land into trust application and the tribe’s plans to open a casino resort in Middleboro.
Listeners can find up to date information on the program at http://www.coffeeshoptalkam.com. They will also have access to Adam’s Show Blog, where they can make comments regarding the program. The program can also be heard streaming live online at http://www.1460wxbr.com.
I sent Adam a “good luck” email on this. He asked if I would appear on the show – I told him I would.
I will post information if a date is ever set.
OMG.
Just when I start to think that this ordeal has run it’s course of colorful irony…
Color me listening!
Bumpkin:
If you and Adam are able to discuss the anti/pro divergence on the casino issue in a respectful, objective manner, then I commend both of you. A discussion between two men of reason, who can agree to disagree, would be a first step in easing some of the tensions between the opposing sides. I wish both you and Adam the best in this endeavor.
It would be a good time to “attack” the myths and/or untruths.

“Bravo” Just keep it real.If you cannot say one good thing about this subject then you have not researched enough. You will be painted as one sided.
Good Luck.
By all means, tell us what those “myths” and “untruths” are – and don’t forget to include the source material.
