Soule @ BOS

Soule Homestead Director Frank Albani gave a presentation to the Middleboro Board of Selectmen on 3/23/2009 giving an overview of the operation for 2008.

The report covered the financials, events, future plans and included several blatant plugs for Sheep Shearing Day. When I’m promoting something like Sheep Shearing Day, I prefer to be far more subtle about it. Something like Sheep Shearing Day that is.

The Soule Homestead really does great work and I found the presentation interesting enough to extract it from my recording of the BOS meeting for easy listening.

If you have trouble listening in the embedded player above, the 30 minute discussion and presentation can be downloaded here.

What a few truly dedicated individuals have contributed to the town via the Homestead is amazing!

Frank Albani’s presentation was impressive and reminded me of the gem that so few have worked hard to create. The programs for kids fill in many gaps that maybe their parents don’t know if they moved here as ‘city folk.’ Sheep Shearing might not have been high on the list of lifetime goals you wanted to accomplish or view, but where else? The programs offered during school vacations are unique, as you know.
